About the Eagle Bike Park

Open as of Friday, May 31 at 4:00pm! The Eagle Bike Park connects our community to the trails we love. For those of us who ride bikes, love bikes, it’s a no brainer. But for those who have never ridden, it provides a safe place to learn and build confidence. It gives intermediate and expert riders a place to progress to the next level. It will be fun, it will be huge, and most importantly it will help give everyone the ability to get out and enjoy our trails!

The bike park is free and open to the public as long as weather permits. It provides a safe and fun environment for our community to enjoy for generations to come. It is a gathering place for families and friends, events, camps, and clinics so we can help everyone get outside and learn to bike!

Community Asset for All

Background & History

The Eagle community spoke up and voiced its desire to have a bike park in the Haymaker area.  Both the Mountain Recreation Haymaker Area Master Plan and the Town of Eagle’s Open Space & Trails Master Plan identify the bike park as a community need.

Who It’s For

Everyone!  Kids on Striders to Experts sending it to the moon.  Trails, jumps, and features for the most experienced riders to an adult or youth learning to ride a bike for the first time.

Community Asset

The free and open to the public bike park will provide a safe, fun, controlled environment for our community to enjoy for generations to come.  It will be a gathering place for families and friends, events, camps, community partners, and clinics.  The bike park will service tens of thousands of rides every year!

Benefits

Skills Zone

Inspiration

Pictured here are photos from the Dos Rios Bike Playground in Grand Junction.  We made a site visit to the park last Fall to check out the layout, features, and user experience.  Needless to say, we were blown away by the design and options!

Bike Playground

What is a bike playground (aka Skills Zone)?  It’s a collection of bike-optimized features that allow children and adults to explore their abilities and have fun in an easily repeatable environment. As they negotiate the playground structures, they improve their balance, coordination, strength and bike handling skills — plus they’re outdoors and off their screens. Outdoor activities have been proven to improve mental health in people of all ages, but children especially benefit from this type of free-form, unscripted activity.

Creativity

The beauty of the skills zone is that everyone can create their own way to ride, every time.  Keep it fun, unique, exciting, and explore your creativity!
