New Programming to Encourage You to Get Outside

With support from Eagle Valley Behavioral Health, in 2022 we are launching new programming that encourages you to get outside and recreate on our trails responsibly.  Whether you already or want to connect with nature by hiking, biking, backpacking, or however you get on the trails, we want to provide the opportunity for you.

Trails continue to be more important than ever for our community.  They provide a much needed escape and improve our physical and mental health.  Being in nature can boost your mood and improve mental health. Spending quality time in the great outdoors reduces stress, calms anxiety, and can lead to a lower risk of depression.  Plus, and most importantly, it is fun!  We will encourage you to get outside but we also need to ensure our trails and public lands are sustainable.  We will promote and maintain a balance between recreation opportunities and conservation needs.

We are developing the new community-based program to promote the behavioral health impacts of outdoor recreation and nature based experiences and build and expand social connections to improve the physical and mental health of community residents.  Experiences include free guided mountain biking, hiking, backpacking/camping, events and community challenges to remove barriers to accessing outdoor recreational activities for all ages and ability levels and encourage connection to nature, social opportunities, community volunteerism, and responsible stewardship of our public lands.
