Science Behind Wildlife Closures & Sustainable Trails
Vail Valley Mountain Trails Alliance
Have you wondered why so many of our valley’s top trails close down each Winter & Spring, some not opening till July? Seasonal trail closures are key to sustainably sharing the trails we run, ride, and hike with the wildlife that makes our valley so, well… wild! Enjoy an evening hike up the Cougar Ridge Trail to Lionshead Rock with the Vail Valley Mountain Trails Alliance and learn all about the science behind our trail closures, as well as how VVMTA is working to build a culture around sustainable trail use here in the Eagle Valley.
Time: 5:00 – 8:00 pm
Trailhead: Game Creek Trailhead, Minturn CO
Trail: Cougar Ridge (Lionshead Rock)
